Core

A panel’s or a door’s core is the insulation between the two sides. It’s usually rock wool, aluminium honeycomb, polyurethane foam or styrofoam.

Dual-flush

A dual-flush door doesn’t have a thickness different from the other components of the partition wall, it’s integrated in the partition wall without any allowance. The door leaf is the same thickness as the door jamb

Cold Room

A cold room is a room used for storing and keeping heat sensitive products off all types under low temperature. There are two kinds of cold rooms: the positive cold room where temperature is above 0°C, and the negative cold room, which keeps products at a temperature below 0°C.

 

Fire rating:

European reference standard, euroclasses integrate a ranking system in five requirement categories: A1, A2, B, C, D, E, F (F corresponding to CN of M ranking)

Euroclasses also consider two other main criteria (after laboratory testing) : smoke opacity, droplets and flaming debris

Smoke opacity (quantity and speed) noted “s” for smoke:

  • S1 : low quantity / speed
  • S2 : middle quantity / speed
  • S3 : high quantity / speed

Droplets and flaming droplets noted “d” for droplets :

  • d0 : no debris
  • d1 : no flaming debris lasting for more than 10 seconds
  • d2 : no d0, no d1

Air shower

Air shower is a chamber in which high speed of clean air jets blow on a person, a cart, a material or other in order to remove of pollutants or contaminating agent residues

FFU

It’s the Fan Filter Unit acronym, that we can translate in Unité de Filtre à Ventilateur (in French). Thanks to its motorisation, a FFU ensures air filtering in a clearly defined space

Interlocking

An interlocking system allows to ensure the access control between 2 spaces by authorizing a door opening only if the opposite door is closed

Single flush

A flush mounting door is usually flushing on one side only. The door leaf is 40 mm thick and, according to the manufacturers, the partition wall is 50 or 60 mm thick

Sandwich panel

A sandwich panel consists of one coor and two faces and depending on the case, it can have a peripheral frame made of aluminium or steel

 

Facing

External surface of the panel or the door, the facing wraps the insulating core and can be made of steel, polyester or solid laminate.

 

Almost flushing

An almost flushing door can be dual-flushing between the jamb and the door leaf, but being an allowance with the partition wall if adding a door afterwards, cutting the partition wall and insert the door in the cut was necessary

Clean Room

A clean room is a space in which particulate concentration is below average and where it can be controlled Unlike the clean room, it doesn’t have to meet a particular standard

 

Clean room

According to NF EN ISO 14644-1 standard, it’s a room in which suspended particulate concentration in the air is controlled and classified. It is built and used in order to minimise the introduction, production and containment of particles inside the room.
